EDIP Grants for Defence Manufacturing and Technologies

EDIP marks a shift from fragmented national approaches toward a more integrated European defence industrial strategy, combining funding, regulation, and cooperation tools. Its long-term goal is to build a competitive, innovative, and crisis-resilient European Defence Technological and Industrial Base (EDTIB) capable of meeting future security demands.  

Strategic Objectives

• Scale up defence production across Europe and partner countries  
• Reduce fragmentation in national defence markets  
• Enhance joint procurement and interoperability  
• Secure supply chains for critical defence products  
• Support Ukraine’s defence industry integration with the EU  

The largest component is Industrial Reinforcement that funds expansion of manufacturing capacity (e.g., ammunition, electronics, platforms) and includes dedicated support for Ukraine’s defence industry (up to 100 % funding for some projects).

The first calls are opening in April 2026 while the ones below are intended for EU-member states applicants.

EDF-EDIP-P-2027-LS-IRA-PE Platforms and end-products

e.g. forging and machining; composite materials; assembly and integration of end-products; MaaS (Manufacturing as a Service); dual-use heavy industry conversion options for defence surge
