Webinar Funding Tapas: A Taste of Upcoming EU R&D Opportunities

On the menu:

• Selected Horizon Europe Cluster and Digital Europe opportunities from the 2026–27 work programmes, including calls in AI, data, digital technologies and other strategic R&I areas.
• EIC Accelerator - grants of up to €2.5 million, plus equity of up to €10 million for high-impact start-ups and SMEs; next batching date 4 November
• MSCA Staff Exchanges 2027 — opening 15 December 2026, deadline 15 April 2027, supporting international, inter-sectoral and interdisciplinary R&I collaboration.
• ERC 2026–27 opportunities — Starting Grant (up to €1.5 million), Consolidator Grant (up to €2 million) and Synergy Grant (up to €10 million), covering the major upcoming ERC opportunities for frontier research.
• EIC STEP Scale Up Defence — €10–30 million in equity for companies scaling critical defence technologies, including drones, counter-drones, air and missile defence, cyber, AI and electronic warfare.
• European Defence Fund (EDF) 2027 — around €1 billion across 31 defence R&D topics, covering areas such as sensors, electronic warfare, cyber, space, CBRN, medical countermeasures and major defence capabilities.
• AGILE – Programme for Agile and Rapid Defence Innovation — a new €115 million programme with a focus on SMEs, start-ups and scale-ups. AGILE is expected to become operational at the start of 2027.
